Reviews
The food was presented very well. However the taste was less than mediocre.
The Tom yum soup was very good. Everything else, not so much
Bad experience.
We waited for the food a really long time to be told after 30 minutes that they didn’t have what we asked for.
Guys besides us were served way before us even if arriving 15 minutes later.
Waitress no polite and impersonal.
A trap for Hipsters, nothing else.
Gyozas were good, have to say, but the rest 👎
Never again!
Great place to discover authentic Chinese, Thai or Vietnamese dishes for a reasonable price. Everything is freshly made, quick service and big portions from dumping to stir fry dishes.
Alright… so this rounds to 4, but it was tricky between 4 and 5. The service was very kind and helpful, and they spoke English! The soup was fantastic—great meat, flavorful if tough meatball (almost as though it had a casing over it), soft noodles, a single forlorn piece of green lettuce, and hoisin sauce with the bean sprout. The chicken feet were seasoned but not sauced; unexpected for that dish in the US. The duck was well-seasoned but a bit tough as well, and the pickled carrot/radish garnish was excellent, as was the rice fluffiness.
Overall, a wonderful dinner and a wonderful time! We didn’t get a refill of water during the meal, but they did swing by to pick up dishes at various times. It was a pleasant, delightful date.
I don't like leaving any business a bad review, but this place really needs to step it up if they're going to survive. The food was shameful.
Very good test and cheap price
Wonderful dishes. I'd recommend their ''shrimp dumplings soup'', their ''crispy lemon chicken'' or their beef salad.
Everything tastes great (I have eaten there roughly 50 times), and the staff is nice. They don't speak French nor English very well, though.
An epically, COMICALLY bad experience. My wife and I ordered one starter and two main dishes. My wife's dish was delivered to the table, and knowing service can be (is almost always) weird at New Thai San, we decided she should eat while the food was hot. Time passed. We motioned to the server. The server eventually delivered a tiny bowl of sweet-and-sour sauce to the table, for the starter. My wife continued to eat, slowly, hoping we would soon be eating together. We motioned again to the server. Nothing. More time passed. My wife approached the end of her meal. Fed up and feeling wholly insulted, I rose and handed the tiny bowl of sauce back to the waiter, and promptly cancelled the rest of the order. The server took the bowl, avoided my eyes completely, and offered only a nearly imperceptible grunt of acknowledgement. My wife soon finished her plate. We could not wait to leave the restaurant (most definitely for the last time), and when I went to the pay the stone-cold woman at the register looked at my card and actually had the gall to tell me that she would not accept it because in the end our order did not exceed 10€. I told her she could either charge my card the 9€ or have nothing. She charged my card and told me not to return. GOOD ADVICE!
